It’s time to settle the score. 🎾

Two clubs. Four divisions. Five league matches. One big Finals Day.

The James & Ethel Gray vs Broadacres Padel League is a social, competitive league designed to bring players together, give you regular match play and build a bit of friendly rivalry between the two clubs.

Whether you’re playing A or B level, it’s about good padel, good competition and a great club atmosphere.

THE FORMAT

Each club will have four divisions:

• Men’s A
• Men’s B
• Ladies’ A
• Ladies’ B

Each division can accommodate 6 pairs, with each pair playing every other pair in their section once — giving you 5 league matches.

You enter as a pair and play together throughout the league.

Rating requirements

Your Playtomic rating at registration determines your division:

Division	Combined Pair Rating
Men’s A	5.0+
Men’s B	Under 5.0
Ladies’ A	4.0+
Ladies’ B	Under 4.0

Your rating at the time of registration will be used for league classification.

MATCH NIGHTS

League matches take place between 18:00 and 21:00, with two 90-minute match slots:

18:00–19:30
19:30–21:00

We’ll rotate early and late slots where possible so everyone gets a fair mix.

James & Ethel Gray – Wednesdays:
14 Oct • 21 Oct • 28 Oct • 4 Nov
Final league match: 18 Nov

Broadacres – Tuesdays:
13 Oct • 20 Oct • 27 Oct • 3 Nov
Final league match: 19 Nov

Broadacres – Thursdays:
15 Oct • 22 Oct • 29 Oct • 5 Nov
Final league match: 19 Nov

A dedicated catch-up period will be available between the fourth and fifth matches.

HOW THE MATCHES WORK

• Matches have a 90-minute hard time limit.
• Normal padel scoring applies.
• If a match goes to a third set, pairs can agree beforehand to play either a full set or super tie-break.
• Matches must finish within the allocated 90-minute slot.

League points

Win 2–0: 3 points
Win 2–1: 3 points
Lose 1–2: 1 point
Lose 0–2: 0 points

Sets and games will also be recorded and used to separate players if teams finish level on points.

After the league phase, the winning pair from each division at James & Ethel Gray and Broadacres will go head-to-head at the:

INTERCLUB FINALS

Saturday 28 November 2026
Broadacres | 08:00–12:00

Four finals. Four division champions. One club rivalry.

Each winning final pair will take home:

R2,500 prize money + a section trophy

And there’s more on the line — the Men’s and Ladies’ travelling club trophies will be decided by the respective A Division finals.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Your R350 entry fee gets you into the league and includes:

• Your 5 league fixtures
• Your first league match court fee
• League balls
• Access to the league experience and weekly standings
• R200 club voucher to use at the bar/restaurant during the league
• A chance to compete for prize money and trophies
• Entry into Finals Day if you qualify

Your remaining league match court fees are discounted to R100 per player per 90-minute match.

Finals Day court fees are covered by the clubs.
